History is usually defined on a time axis. What is time? How to measure time? Philosophers have always agonized about this question. The Dutch polymath Christiaan Huijgens (1629 - 1695) *) wanted to measure time accurately and invented the pendulum clock. One is thus informed over time by means of a Pendula: "Infopendula". Huijgens can thus be considered as the founder of the watch industry. These arose first in Friesland and went from there to Germany into the Black Forest and to Switzerland. Our ancestor Leendert Clasis (1735 - 1803) was a watchmaker and took the name Wagenmakers. It is said that this name has to do with the profession of watchmakers: see
